I don’t need seat belt, I am in Police

These were the words of a person whom I had given lift on my way to home today. I can understand if he had some Kevlar jacket and bulletproof helmet etc protecting him. But I fail to understand how being a policeman can save a person from smashing his head on my car’s dashboard in case of an accident! I have heard similar things from guys who think they look stupid with helmets on bikes, or it ruins their hairstyle or some other silly stuff that teenage boys say. But this guy was at least 40-45 years old, on an empty village road at 6AM in morning! Whom was he trying to impress! And one common thing that I have seen in all such cases is that the reason is always on the lines of “there is no traffic cop at this time” “you wont get a ticket for jumping red light in such a small town” ” there are no cops on this road”. Come on people! At least find better reasons! Something like:

“My head starts shrinking inside a helmet”

“My car was a bull in past life, it starts moving automatically on a red light”

“The seat belt causes a chemical reaction with the fabric of my shirt”

Later it made me think, what if such a logic actually existed? If i am in traffic Police, car accidents can’t harm me. If I am a doctor, heart attack wont cause me any trouble. If I am a cook, I don’t need to eat. If I am a butcher, I will never die!
I guess we engineers will have least boastful thing to say ” I don’t need an anti-virus because I am a software engineer”. Doesn’t sound very macho,does it?

Are you Happy and Motivated?

To start with, I have picked up this one, from one of the blogs that I had written. In this, I have tried to summarize the comments that I received as well.

You must have heard this - There is a glass which is half full of water and two people (an optimist and a pessimist) were asked, to say a line about this. The optimist said that, the glass is half full and the pessimist said, the glass is half empty.

What I have tried here, is to create an analogy b/w the glass of water and Life. There are two ways to look at life as well:

One is to look at what has been achieved and be happy about it and,

the Other is to look at what has not been achieved and hence, be motivated to achieve that. You will find lots of people around you, who are either of first kind or of second kind. But it is very difficult to find someone, who is both happy and still motivated.
Do you have such people around you? If yes, then you are lucky, but if not, then try searching for such people. Lets see, whether you are happy or whether you are motivated?

If you are happy, then share your life here, and make others happy. If you are motivated, then share what you want to achieve. You might find more people in your journey. If you are both happy and motivated, then, go on - THIS WORLD IS WAITING FOR YOU.

In this I got a lot of comments, some of them in line with, what I am trying to say here, and with some very interesting views as well. I have tried to summarize it here: People believe that although it is important to be happy, and be motivated as well, but being happy doesn't means that everyone has to achieve everything. Sometimes, it is important to be contented with what is available and move on. So, I would say, be happy, be motivated and still be happy.

Hello world!

We are a group of friends who have been blogging for quite some time now. But most of the times the writing is quite irregular, sometimes its 5-6 posts in one week, and at other times it has been few months in between posts.
So, we decided to join our forces and write collectively for this blog. Hopefully this way we will be able to keep an active website. Another advantage will be increase in the variety, all of us have very different way of writing as well as likes and dislikes. Hopefully it will result in a colorful blend of posts on a number of topics.
